About the role

The job of EHS Child Development Specialist (Classified Teacher) is to deliver instruction addressing all developmental domains, assess student progress, and maintain a safe, supportive classroom environment.

Responsibilities

  • Adapts classroom work for individualized learning plans within lesson plans.
  • Communicates with parents and guardians through meetings, home visits, and reports.
  • Collects and analyzes data to adjust instructional strategies.
  • Attends meetings and in-service presentations to acquire and convey information.
  • Develops weekly lesson plans and implements designated curriculum.
  • Maintains learning and play spaces, ensuring safety and comfort.
  • Manages projects and activities, meeting established timelines and objectives.
  • Organizes and prepares written documents and materials for various purposes.
  • Provides ongoing feedback to inform supervisors, teachers, and parents/guardians of progress.
  • Responds to emergencies and conducts parent-teacher conferences four times a year.
  • Attends to children’s daily needs, such as diapering and feeding.

Requirements

  • Minimum educational requirement: Infant Toddler Child Development Associate or a TCC in ECCE.
  • Must obtain a physical exam (Head Start grant requirement).
  • Valid Georgia Driver’s license.
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint Background Clearance.
  • Sex Offender Registry Check.
  • Child Abuse Registry Check.
  • Health Exam.
