Early College Teacher Assistant (Grades: 9-12)
About the role
Assist in conducting intensified learning experiences for students in assigned areas and relieve teachers of various non-instructional duties.
Perform supportive tasks, primarily of a non-instructional nature, for a certified teacher.
Maintain discipline in the absence of the teacher and help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
Help supervise students throughout the day, including in hallways, lunchrooms, auditoriums, gyms, and playgrounds.
Monitor students' special needs or problems and assist the teacher in keeping administrative records and preparing required reports.
Participate in staff development training programs and attend faculty meetings and special events as assigned.
Decorate the classroom for special events, PTA meetings, holidays, etc., and perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or USA equivalency.
- Associate Degree or 48 College credit hours or pass an academic assessment.
- Valid Texas educational aide certificate.
- Six months of knowledge and skills acquired through work experience or successful completion of a specific training program for teacher assistants is preferred.
- Demonstrated initiative and a willingness to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Demonstrated general knowledge of child growth/development and behavior characteristics.
- Willingness to remain current with the latest developments in the profession.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and skills acquired through work experience or successful completion of a specific training program for teacher assistants is preferred.
- Demonstrated flexibility to cope with the challenges of a rapidly changing world.
- Demonstrated willingness to remain current with the latest developments in the profession.
