About This Role

Great Bridge Children's Center in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a qualified Early Childhood - Teacher Assistant to work with Infant / Toddler (0–2) in a center-based environment. This position requires no formal credential — just relevant experience.

What You'll Do

• Implement engaging curriculum activities and encourage active participation from children.
• Manage daily classroom operations, ensuring a clean, safe, and well-organized environment.
• Build strong relationships with parents through regular updates and progress reports.
• Model and promote self-help skills and good hygiene habits among children.
• Streamline daily transitions from home to the childcare center, ensuring a seamless experience for all.
• Adhere to all center policies and state childcare regulations.
• Maintain a professional development plan to continually enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Of good character and reputation
• Passionate about working with children
• Able to establish positive relationships with children, parents, and coworkers
• Positive, patient, and energetic demeanor
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Minimum 3 months of professional childcare experience
• Understanding of child development and its principles
• Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer proficiency
• Must pass a full background check and health screening

Pay

This Early Childhood - Teacher Assistant role pays $14 to $17/Hr.
