Early Childhood - Food Service Coordinator

About the role

The Food Service Coordinator prepares food and serves meals and snacks to center children. They are responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness, inventory, and safety of the kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Plan menus in accordance with nutritional guidelines and food restrictions.
• Prepare, cook, and deliver meals.
• Maintain hygiene and safety of the kitchen in accordance with state licensing requirements.
• Order food and related supplies to ensure a well-stocked kitchen.
• May assist with children within the center.
• May monitor classrooms periodically.
• May assist with lunch breaks for other staff members.
• Follow all center policies and state regulations.
• Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of professional experience in food service; preferably in child care or institutional setting.
• Basic math skills for measuring and portioning.
• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
• Familiarity with CACFP guidelines.
• Ability to lift 30 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Must clear a full background check.
