Early Childhood - Food Service Coordinator
About This Role
Converse Christian School & Early Learning Center in Converse, TX is hiring a Early Childhood - Food Service Coordinator to support daily operations at an early childhood education center. This position offers $15 – $17/Hr and requires relevant professional experience.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook daily meals in accordance with CACFP guidelines and nutritional standards
Ensure proper portioning, meal components, and documentation for compliance
Maintain food safety and sanitation standards at all times
Assist in planning menus that meet CACFP requirements and participant needs
Order food, supplies, and kitchen materials within budget guidelines
Monitor food usage and minimize waste
Accurately input meal counts, menus, and required data into designated systems
Maintain records for compliance, reporting, and audits
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas
Ensure all equipment is properly used, cleaned, and maintained
Follow health department regulations and safety procedures
Track inventory levels and conduct regular counts
Manage kitchen spending and adhere to budget requirements
Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality
Cook and serve meals in a safe and hygienic manner
Coordinate daily kitchen operations and workflow
Establish and maintain a consistent style and standard of food service and safety of kitchen
Pass and maintain a Food Handlers certification
Complete required annual trainings
Requirements
Must pass food handlers course
Must clear full background check
Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification
Basic math skills for measuring and portioning
1 – 2 years of professional experience in food service; preferably in childcare or institutional setting

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
