About the role

Alpha's approach to education diverges sharply from conventional schooling. You will create flexible learning frameworks spanning all readiness areas, mentor a team of Guides to execute them with both rigor and enthusiasm, and monitor concrete milestone achievement for each child.

This position emphasizes direct, active leadership. Approximately one-third of your time will be classroom-based — demonstrating facilitation methods, observing instruction, and conducting alignment sessions. The remainder involves curriculum development, coaching Guides toward explicit, trackable objectives, and maintaining transparent, research-backed communication with families.

What You Will Be Doing

• Conduct one-on-one and small-group mentoring for PreK Guides, demonstrating instructional methods and recognizing quantifiable achievements
• Develop and guide play-centered learning experiences that integrate social-emotional learning, literacy, math, and physical development, setting the instructional standard for your team
• Evaluate and align Guide records each week against established rubrics and actionability standards, facilitating calibration meetings to ensure milestone tracking remains transparent
• Create updates for families and lead team coordination meetings that synchronize objectives and uphold collective commitments to PreK readiness benchmarks across the campus

What You Won't Be Doing

• Executing prescriptive lesson plans or compliance-focused protocols — you will build responsive, play-oriented frameworks informed by actual performance data
• Delivering a predetermined curriculum issued from headquarters — you control the design at both quarterly and weekly intervals
• Operating independently without structured accountability — mentorship dialogues and alignment reviews are embedded in your weekly routine
• Overseeing K-12 learners engaged in software-based instruction — this position centers exclusively on early childhood education delivered in person

Key Responsibilities

Advance PreK readiness results campus-wide by coaching educators, ensuring program consistency, and fostering classrooms that are both evidence-informed and joyful.

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a closely related discipline; Master's degree or advanced certification is preferred
• Minimum of 5 years working professionally with children aged 3 to 5, including experience as a lead or primary instructor in a classroom or formal program environment
• Demonstrated capacity to design and execute play-based educational frameworks or curricula that support developmental milestone progression, such as Montessori approaches
• At least 1 year of experience mentoring or supervising a team of educators with clear performance expectations
• Track record of composing written progress communications for families and facilitating team coordination sessions within an educational context
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
• Commitment to working on-site at the Alpha Austin campus, with relocation assistance available if necessary

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Knowledge of educational technology platforms, adaptive tracking systems, or digital observation applications used in early childhood education
• Background in behavior management techniques and co-regulation practices for children ages 3 to 5
