Early Childhood Curriculum Coordinator, Alpha - $150,000/year USD

Crossover · Austin, TX · 1 wk ago
Education$150k/yrFull-time

About the role

What if intentional play could drive quantifiable progress in early development? Alpha's approach to education diverges sharply from conventional models. Our PreK program integrates play-centered curriculum architecture with live developmental tracking — no prescriptive lesson plans, no procedural checklists. You will architect adaptive learning experiences spanning all readiness areas, mentor a team of Guides in executing them with both precision and enthusiasm, and monitor measurable developmental gains for each child in your cohort.

This is an engaged leadership position. Approximately one-third of your time will be spent in classrooms — demonstrating facilitation methods, observing practice, and conducting calibration discussions. The remainder involves curriculum design, coaching Guides toward concrete, measurable outcomes, and maintaining transparent, evidence-backed communication with families. The results of your work will be visible: four-year-olds reaching developmental markers ahead of schedule, Guides advancing their performance metrics weekly, and families becoming champions of the program.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitate 1:1 and small-group coaching for PreK Guides, demonstrating techniques and acknowledging measurable progress
  • Architect and lead play-centered learning sessions that integrate SEL, literacy, numeracy, and motor development, demonstrating exemplary practice for the team
  • Evaluate and calibrate Guide documentation on a weekly basis for alignment with rubrics and clarity, conducting calibration meetings to ensure milestone visibility
  • Create family communications and facilitate team huddles that synchronize priorities and reinforce collective commitment to campus-wide PreK readiness objectives

What You Won't Be Doing

  • Adhering to prescriptive lesson plans or compliance-focused protocols — you'll build adaptive, play-centered experiences informed by live data
  • Delivering a static curriculum dictated by higher administration — you control the quarterly and weekly instructional architecture
  • Operating without structured feedback channels — coaching dialogues and calibration reviews are embedded into your weekly rhythm
  • Supervising K-12 learners engaged with app-based platforms — this position centers entirely on early childhood, in-person, classroom-embedded practice

Key Responsibilities

Lead campus-wide PreK readiness results through Guide mentorship, program integrity, and engaging, evidence-informed classroom environments.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a related discipline; Master's degree or specialized credentials preferred

  • Documented success in designing and executing play-based educational frameworks or curricula that promote developmental progress, such as Montessori approaches
  • A minimum of 1 year coaching or supervising a team of educators with clear performance expectations
  • Track record of producing written family communications detailing child progress and facilitating team coordination meetings within an educational context
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Commitment to working on-site at the Alpha Austin campus, with relocation assistance offered as needed

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Knowledge of edtech systems, adaptive assessment dashboards, or digital observation instruments applied in early childhood environments
  • Background in behavior management approaches and co-regulation methods for children ages 3-5
