Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to engage community members, stakeholders and organizations through volunteer events, center activities, and public presentations.
- Facilitate partnerships with families, community businesses, organizations and individuals to expand volunteer opportunities.
- Plan, organize and support program volunteer events to increase the public’s knowledge, understanding and support of Early Head Start.
- Prepare and maintain materials for community engagement.
- Work with EHS team members to identify opportunities, program needs and implement engagement strategies.
- Recruit, interview and orient volunteers for roles within the EHS program.
- Supervise, train and evaluate volunteers to ensure quality service delivery.
- Develop and implement volunteer appreciation events.
- Participate in community engagement activities including meetings, events, inter-agency collaboration to promote AWARE program and volunteerism.
- Develop and maintain community Memorandums of Understanding (MOU), required and supportive, of EHS.
- Maintain direct communication with EHS team members for scheduling and coordination of program activities.
- Maintain data base of community volunteers, stakeholders and organizations.
- Maintain annual schedule of events, including public presentations, volunteer activities.
- Assist data specialist with bi-annual satisfaction survey.
- Prepare accurate volunteer records, including hours worked and required documentation.
- Track participation, collect feedback, maintain records to evaluate program effectiveness and inform future initiatives.
- Follows State of Montana and AWARE, Inc, rules, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Prepares reports, applications, and supporting documentation as requested by the supervisor within timelines established by that supervisor.
- Attends and participates in mandatory training, in-services, staff meetings, and Corporate Committees as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A BS/BA Degree in a Human Services or related field and one (1) year of direct work experience with community engagement or volunteer management. An equivalency may be considered.
- A Valid Montana Driver’s License, along with a clean motor vehicle record required.
- Must have, or be willing to obtain, a valid Montana Driver’s License. Must have an acceptable driving record; as well as an acceptable criminal and protective services background check.
