Location: Ontario, CA 91761 | Onsite, first shift, hourly position.

About the Role

Plan, schedule, monitor, adjust, close out, and report on preventive maintenance (PM), corrective maintenance (CM), and emergency maintenance (EM) work orders using the EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) system. Serve as the coordination hub for the maintenance crew and staff throughout the day via two-way radios. Provide backup support for the maintenance manager, maintenance supervisors, and inventory technician as needed. Monitor and control documentation for all calibrated equipment, scheduling inspections and corrective actions as required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the maintenance control center, creating work orders (EM, CM) in the EAM system in response to repair calls from the production floor.
  • Monitor mechanical issues using two-way radios.
  • Develop a top-level plan for PM and CM work orders using EAM tools, maintaining communication with the inventory technician, maintenance supervisor, maintenance manager, and production scheduler.
  • Review completed PM work orders and plan steps leading to the generation and scheduling of CM work orders.
  • Generate detailed shift-by-shift schedules for PM and CM work orders, considering maintenance department capabilities, craft knowledge, and production scheduler input.
  • Maintain PM and CM shift schedules for maintenance supervisors and collaborate with foremen to assign workloads.
  • Provide administrative support for the maintenance manager and supervisors, including vacation planning, sick leave tracking, and office duties.
  • Collect and enter completed work orders into the EAM system, including time entry and post time card journal functions.
  • Review parts availability for PM, CM, and EM work orders, advising the inventory technician and MRO buyer of shortages that may impact scheduling.
  • Collaborate with the inventory technician to create BOM parts kits for PM work orders and substitute for the inventory technician as needed.
  • Perform quality control checks on PM work orders, ensuring correct routing steps, safety and environmental requirements, updating estimated time, and correcting bill of materials.
  • Continuously improve PMs to reduce equipment downtime and associated man hours.
  • Control records for calibration of flow meters and other monitored equipment, scheduling inspections and maintenance to ensure serviceability.
  • Adhere to all food safety policies, procedures, and regulatory criteria, including SQF code, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience; Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Business Administration, Engineering, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Experience in inventory, materials, and scheduling preferred.

Skills

  • Ability to read, understand, and write a broad range of documents, working with both metric and Imperial measurement systems.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access; strong interest in learning other computer-based systems like CMMS.
  • Understanding of precision and follow-through in scheduling activities.
  • Effective communication skills for interfacing with management and floor-level personnel.
  • Excellent judgment and ability to balance production goals with maintenance objectives.
  • Understanding of preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) planning and execution.

Pay

Hourly base range: $32.03 - $40.19.

Schedule

  • Typical shifts are 8-12 hours per day.
  • Additional unscheduled time after hours and on weekends may be required.

Physical Demands

  • Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Willingness and ability to wear personal protective equipment as required by Company policy and legal requirements.
  • Potential exposure to vibrations, chemicals, fumes, food allergens (including soy and dairy), confined spaces, dark spaces, and heights in excess of 18 feet.
