E-Learning and Publications Editor

About the Role

The American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) is seeking a Learning and Publications Editor to help create and refine high-quality educational content that supports eye physicians and surgeons around the world. This role combines medical editing, digital learning, and publication production to support the Academy's mission of advancing ophthalmic education and patient care. In this position, you'll collaborate with physician authors, education teams, and publication specialists to develop engaging online learning activities, continuing education content, and clinical publications for a global audience. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Education, Life Sciences, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 3–5 years of experience in medical, scientific, educational, or technical editing/publishing
• Strong copyediting and proofreading skills with attention to detail
• Familiarity with medical terminology and AMA style guidelines
• Experience with digital learning tools, content management systems, or e-learning platforms preferred
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a collaborative environment
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Pay

$102,824 annually. Salary listed reflects compensation for San Francisco–based hybrid employees. Compensation may vary based on geographic location, experience, and internal equity considerations.
