E-Commerce - FM-24900 - eComm, Associate Content Specialist

This entry-level position reports directly to our eCommerce department at our South Corporate office (1800 Innovation Point, 5th Floor, Fort Mill, South Carolina) on Monday through Thursday and will work remotely on Friday from home.

Schedule

• Primary office hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Thursday on-site
• Friday: remote from home

Pay

Starting rate: $21.00/hour

Responsibilities

• Assist with creating and publishing clear, engaging, and SEO-friendly product descriptions
• Coordinate product samples to prepare items for online listing
• Conduct basic research on product features and specifications using provided resources
• Help maintain accurate product categories for site navigation, supporting the eCommerce On-Site Merchandiser and the eCommerce Content Specialist
• Perform routine audits and quality checks for product listings, including verifying product names, descriptions, photography, pricing, and categorization
• Collaborate with merchandising, customer service, and vendors to address basic content discrepancies and product questions
• Develop foundational product knowledge of current merchandise assortments

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office and ability to create and maintain simple spreadsheets in Excel
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and maintain multiple projects on an ongoing basis with shifting priorities
• Strong follow-up and follow-through to ensure all tasks are fully completed
• Strong oral and interpersonal communication skills
• Creative writing experience along with experience writing prompts using AI (such as ChatGPT) preferred
• Willingness to learn new technologies, systems, and processes strongly preferred
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Excellent problem-solving skills with an aptitude for critical thinking
• Positive attitude and a great sense of humor that relates to our "fun-loving" brand is a plus
• Ability to accurately discern color, with or without accommodation
• Ability to provide world-class customer support by adopting and meeting Shoe Carnival’s Corporate Core Customer Service Goals
