About the role
The Washington State Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a Dynamic 365 Solutions Architect (IT Architecture Senior Specialist) to lead the Dynamics 365 Program. This is a telework/hybrid position, allowing candidates to work from anywhere within the state of Washington with a reliable internet connection. Travel may be required.
Duties
- Working with Product Line Owners (PLO) to define the vision and requirements for solutions within the Dynamics 365 program, recommending options, facilitating solution selection process, and overseeing technical implementation.
- Evaluating business requirements, identifying the most effective technical solutions, and communicating architectural strategies and recommendations to stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Collaborating with business areas and technical teams to ensure proposed solutions include technical requirements that accurately address business needs.
- Creating roadmaps that link outcomes, capabilities (business and technical), and processing to schedule and resources.
- Working with Enterprise Architecture Office and Program leadership to ensure all relevant stakeholders are represented in decision processes.
- Reviewing product life cycle initiatives and projects to ensure alignment with Dynamics 365 industry standards and best practices for solution architecture.
- Identifying architectural solutions to business needs, addressing gaps in Dynamics 365 native functionality, and ensuring solutions adhere to industry standards and best practices.
- Engaging with enterprise IT governance to shape agency architectural standards and facilitate program alignment.
- Supervising Dynamics 365 developers and cultivating platform technical expertise within DOC.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent and 14 years of progressive technical and leadership experience in a related IT discipline, or
- Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited university and 10 years of progressive technical and leadership experience in a related IT discipline.
- Five years (5) experience working in a complex/enterprise IT environment across multiple disciplines (IT Security, software development, network engineering, application security, database, risk management, project management, etc.),
- Two (2) years’ experience in designing solutions in cloud and hybrid cloud environments to meet business needs,
- Two (2) years’ experience in articulating business risks of technical issues to non-technical personnel,
- Two (2) years of experience delivering solutions in complex business environments including technical aspects of M&O planning, release coordination, and managing stabilization,
- Demonstrated ability to bridge the gap between waterfall and agile methodologies,
- Demonstrated ability to understand and create low-level road maps with business leadership to help set requirements' context and strategic direction.
- Training, experience, or certifications in Microsoft & Cloud technologies, such as: Azure, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Microsoft Security & Identity Management, Microsoft Mobile Device & Workstation Management and Compliance,
- Two (2) years of experience developing solutions in ERP platforms, preferably Dynamics 365, Finance and Operations,
- Knowledge of IT Architectural frameworks like TOGAF and Zachman,
- Proven history of cultivating effective technical teams,
- Proven ability to learn and teach others complex new technologies.
