About the role

The DWPF Lead Laboratory Technician serves as the Shift Lead in the absence of the First Line Manager (FLM). They provide oversight and coordinate work for Laboratory Technicians, offer day-to-day support and analytical oversight of sample analysis, method development, and troubleshooting. They contribute to general improvement initiatives such as procedure/method development, technician skill enhancement/training, data review, error-free reporting, and/or integrated safety management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coach laboratory personnel, ensuring safe and compliant activities.
  • Support chemists in developing, validating, and verifying analytical methods.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and facilities.
  • Manage laboratory chemical inventory and prepare/review reagents and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality assurance protocols.
  • Perform data checks and peer reviews on analytical results.
  • Assist with project-specific tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma with secondary education and/or relevant work experience, or Bachelor's Degree in Science or a related field.
  • Ability to work in a radioactive environment, wearing protective clothing and respiratory equipment.
  • Experience with laboratory techniques and instrumentation.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Computer literacy and mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

Completed SRMC Laboratory Technician Qualification for DWPF/ETF Laboratory or SWPF Laboratory (internal applicants).

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in laboratory instrumentation and techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

USD $69,120.00/Yr. USD $124,368.00/Yr. Exceptions to this range/rate may be applied on a case-by-case basis taking into account aspects such as education, experience, and skill need of the organization.

Schedule

Full-time position.
