Leadership Responsibilities
- Mentoring, coaching, and developing Emergency Veterinarians through regular feedback and clinical guidance
- Training and onboarding new Emergency Doctors while promoting a culture of continuous learning
- Establishing and maintaining high standards of medical care and clinical protocols
- Addressing performance concerns professionally while fostering accountability and professional growth
- Pricing and approving additions to the hospital inventory
- Managing the budget for new equipment and providing a reasonable cost estimate and return on investment
- Ensuring positive communication with clients and between doctors, including the proper transfer of patient care responsibilities
- Reviewing patient records for completeness and accuracy and using them to promote medical excellence
- Managing controlled drugs and reviewing and approving requests for alternatives to additional drugs and medical supplies
- Conducting regular doctor meetings
- Performing other duties as assigned by Manager
Qualifications
- DVM or equivalent veterinary degree
- North Carolina veterinary license (or ability to obtain)
- DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
- Minimum three years of emergency medicine experience preferred
- Previous leadership, mentorship, or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Outstanding clinical judgment and emergency medicine skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proven ability to mentor, coach, and develop veterinarians
- Commitment to building a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing medical team
