About the role

Assist in conducting intensified learning experiences for students in assigned areas and relieve teachers of various non-instructional duties. Assist teachers in managing student arrival and departure times. Perform supportive tasks for certified teachers who are primarily non-instructional. Assist teachers and students in achieving program or activity objectives. Maintain discipline in the absence of the teacher.

Responsibilities

  • Tutor students individually or in small groups to reinforce and follow-up learning activities.
  • Absorb and perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.

Requirements

Accredited Senior High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S.A. equivalency), plus one of the following: Associate degree, 48 college credit hours, pass an academic assessment. Paraprofessional certificate required from State Board of Certification. Proficient in basic communication techniques and language. Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff, parents, and the general public. Demonstrated initiative and willingness to follow verbal and written instructions. Must possess good writing skills and be able to communicate effectively with students, parents, and employees. Demonstrated flexibility to cope with the challenges of a rapidly changing world. Demonstrated willingness to remain current with the latest developments in the profession.
