Dunnage Operator

DEPARTMENT: Dunnage | REPORTS TO: Plant Manager

About the role

The Dunnage Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient processing of customer materials and dunnage through industrial cleaning and production equipment. This role supports operational excellence by ensuring products are processed according to quality standards, production schedules, and customer requirements. The Dunnage Operator monitors material condition, identifies abnormalities, performs basic equipment maintenance, and maintains accurate production records within the company's ERP system.

Responsibilities

• Operate dunnage washing and production equipment in accordance with established company procedures and safety standards.
• Process customer materials while ensuring quality, cleanliness, and production requirements are met.
• Complete production, inventory, and shipment transactions within the Plex ERP system.
• Inspect machinery prior to operation to verify proper setup, alignment, and safe working condition.
• Perform basic machine adjustments and routine preventative maintenance.
• Monitor material condition throughout processing and report abnormalities, equipment issues, or quality concerns to supervisors.
• Maintain required production levels while ensuring compliance with established specifications and tolerances.
• Safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment as authorized.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
