Dump Truck Driver
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a dump truck safely and efficiently on roadways and construction sites
- Haul and deliver materials to various job sites, plants, and disposal facilities
- Dump materials at designated locations while ensuring even, safe distribution
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report mechanical issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, timecards, and truck condition reports
- Secure loads properly and ensure they remain within legal weight limits
- Follow traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company policies at all times
- Communicate clearly with dispatchers, foremen, and site personnel regarding timing and drop locations
- Auxiliary duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A or B (based on truck type) with clean driving record
- 2+ years of dump truck driving experience preferred
- Familiarity with hauling asphalt, gravel, or other construction materials is a plus
- Experience with manual transmission and off-road operation preferred
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices
- Ability to read maps, understand directions, and follow delivery schedules
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and communication skills
- Willingness to work long hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed
- Willingness to travel overnight when projects are outside the local area
