Dump Truck Driver

Drives multi-axle highway equipment with GVWR in excess of 26,001 pounds for transporting construction equipment and/or materials. FMCSA Clearinghouse registration is required; candidates are encouraged to register now.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maneuver equipment to load, transport, and unload construction materials and related equipment using gears, levers, and attachments.
• Follow pickup and delivery schedules.
• Verify types and weights of hauled materials.
• Communicate with other operators and drivers to ensure timely, specification-compliant deliveries.
• Maintain truck cleanliness and good working order, including minor repairs and servicing.

Essential Functions:

• Demonstrate coordination to operate cab controls for bed manipulation.
• Apply math and angles to position the bed for precise material dumping.
• Utilize sharp regular and peripheral vision to navigate job sites with surrounding trucks and heavy equipment.
• React quickly to signals (sound, light, visual).
• Physically capable of climbing, lifting, and carrying 15–30 pounds.
• Sit or drive ~70% and stand or walk ~30% of a 10-to-12-hour shift.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Class “B” commercial driver’s license with proper endorsements.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Valid DOT physical.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Minimum one (1) year of prior driving experience with references.
