Ductile Iron Fabrication and Production Lathe Operator

Consolidated Pipe & Supply is seeking a Ductile Iron Fabrication and Production Lathe Operator to join our team in Bessemer/McCalla, AL. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a growing operation, make a direct impact on product quality, and advance your career.

Responsibilities

• Follow OSHA and Company safety requirements
• Making and delivering a quality product that meets customer requirements by measuring, cutting, threading, and flange assembly of ductile iron pipe
• Lathe machining of ductile iron pipe, flanges, accessories, and parts
• Testing pipe assemblies for leaks
• Troubleshooting issues with fabrications and equipment

Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies

• A minimum of 3 years of lathe experience threading and fabricating ductile iron pipe is preferred
• Manual lathe operating knowledge and experience is a plus
• Knowledge of fabrication machinery and equipment is preferred
• Welding knowledge and experience is a plus
• Knowledge and use of measuring devices, materials, equipment, and tools used in pipe fabrication
• Ability to read and understand safety procedures, technical drawings, interpret drawings, schematics, production orders, standards, procedures, and ensure each order and project are completed correctly
• A strong work ethic, a strong desire to learn, and commitment to customers, the team and Company
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Good communication skills
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Must be able to pass a drug screening
