About the Role

Assists the direct sales efforts of two hotels by collaborating with the General Manager(s) to proactively target assigned segments/accounts. Works with General Manager(s) to develop and execute quarterly sales action plans. Success is measured through achievement of the hotels’ revenue goals and improvement in market share performance compared to defined competitors.

Responsibilities

  • Handle inquiry calls, proposals, negotiations, and contracts according to departmental procedures.
  • Document all sales activities in STS Cloud or Delphi.fdc sales systems depending on the brand.
  • Book appropriate business to achieve or exceed monthly room revenue budgets and other revenue targets for both hotels.
  • Approach the position with a relationship-building and proactive selling mindset.
  • Meet or exceed weekly telephone prospecting, qualification, and solicitation call goals, as well as outside call goals.
  • Use each property’s computerized sales management system to manage business, including sales activities, reports, business entries, meeting space blocking, and account building.
  • Prospect for new business using tools such as Brand database reports, local newspapers, business journals, Construct Connect, ZoomInfo, Agency 360, and brand-specific reports (Marriott/Hilton).
  • Perform detailed follow-up via email for client visits, site visits, and cold calls.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to book or retain business.
  • Contribute input to the General Manager for the annual budgeting process, revenue generation, and advertising/promotion costs.
  • Utilize internal lead sources such as in-house guest lists and brand reporting to maximize revenue production.
  • Target and engage decision-makers at specific companies to generate new business or strengthen existing accounts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree (BS/BA) preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Previous hotel sales experience preferred (e.g., sales coordinator, hotel operations).
  • Experience selling Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, or IHG extended-stay brands is highly preferred.
  • Must be able to perform major life activities: standing, lifting, bending, learning, reading, concentrating, thinking, and communicating.
  • Must be able to push or pull 60 pounds unassisted and lift/carry 30 pounds unassisted.
  • Must be able to see, hear, speak, and read English; additional language skills may be helpful.
  • Valid driver’s license required; ability to drive on behalf of the company.
  • Physical presence at the hotel is required; this role is not conducive to remote work.

Schedule

  • Typical week includes 1–3 days out of the office on sales calls; the remainder is spent in the office on sales plans and follow-up.
  • May require weekend availability to ensure meeting or group satisfaction.
  • Periodic overnight travel may be required for sales blitzes, training, or client events.
