About the role

This full-time role supports Acenda's Mental Health Urgent Care in Cape May County. The Dual License Substance Use Therapist provides clinical support to adults experiencing mental health and co-occurring substance use needs, helping individuals stabilize, strengthen their well-being and connect with the appropriate level of ongoing care.

  • Conducting assessments
  • Developing individualized treatment approaches
  • Providing evidence-based interventions such as Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy and Illness Management and Recovery (IMR)
  • Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
  • Engaging families and community supports when appropriate
  • Coordinating service linkages
  • Ensuring successful transitions following completion of the 30-day program

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a Human Services field with at least two years of post-Master's experience
  • Active New Jersey clinical license in good standing, with a minimum of LAC or LSW; CADC or LCADC preferred
  • Candidates may also be addiction counselor-interns actively working toward CADC certification
  • Experience assessing and treating individuals with mental health and co-occurring substance use needs
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices including MI, CBT and Solution-Focused approaches
  • Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning and care coordination skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary, strengths-based team
  • Commitment to culturally responsive, person-centered care

Pay

  • Base rate: $31.25/hour
  • $5,000 sign-on bonus - $2,500 paid at hire and $2,500 following successful completion of 90 days
  • Additional $1.50/hour for Spanish proficiency

Schedule

Day schedule with some evening and weekend shifts
