Qualifications

  • Valid Washington State teaching certificate appropriate for assignment
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning, Master's preferred
  • Advanced level proficiency in Spanish language on ACTFL written and oral assessments
  • English as a Second Language (ESL), English Language Learner (ELL), or Bilingual Education endorsement, preferred
  • Successful teaching experience in middle level grades, preferred
  • Successful experience teaching across diverse populations, preferred
  • Willingness and desire to assist a teaching team in implementing an interdisciplinary instructional program
  • Familiarity with a wide variety of teaching techniques which are used to maximize student learning

Essential Functions

  • Teaches middle level content with a high degree of skill which may include an assignment to a combination grade-level classroom
  • Teaches in an instructional program that meets the students’ individual needs at their individual instructional level and makes modifications when necessary
  • Works as an enthusiastic part of a learning-centered environment believing that each student can learn
  • Uses the PLC process to improve instruction, learning, and assessment
  • Maintains effective, positive classroom management
  • Provides a safe environment and handles discipline in a positive manner
  • Works and plans cooperatively and collaboratively
  • Serves as a positive role model for students, and practices the behaviors that are expected of our students
  • Acts actively engaged students in using technology in individual and collaborative learning activities
  • Works in a flexible and cooperative manner
  • Treats co-workers, supervisors, students, parents and others with dignity and respect at all times
  • Serves as a positive role model for students, and practices the behaviors that are expected of our students
  • Maintains regular and punctual attendance and hours of operation as set by the assigned building/location and the Comprehensive Professional Agreement to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position to achieve program requirements

Benefits/Compensation

Salary range: $64,498 - 121,573 (includes Base & TRI enrichment; commensurate upon FTE, degree, credits and experience).

Additional Compensation: Certificated positions may have additional pay provisions above what is represented on the salary range such as, but not limited to TRI professional learning, extended year days, extra appendix E supplemental days and professional development reimbursement.

Sick Leave: 8 hours per month (part-time employee accrual will be proportionate to their FTE).
