As a Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineer you will represent Utilita in customers’ homes, installing smart meters safely and professionally across domestic properties while delivering a customer‑first experience and upholding high standards of safety, quality and service.
Responsibilities
As a Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineer you will:
- Install smart meters safely and professionally in domestic properties.
- Provide a positive customer experience while maintaining safety, quality and service standards.
- Represent Utilita in customers’ homes and support the company’s customer‑first approach.
Qualifications
- Smart Metering qualifications, including CCN1 or CMA1 and MET1, or equivalent.
Requirements
- At least 12 months experience working as a Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineer.
- A valid full UK driving licence.
Pay
- Base salary: £38,993 per annum.
- Uncapped earning potential.
- On‑call payment: £330 for each on‑call week (average rota of one week in five).
- Industry‑leading installation bonus: £25 per meter or £50 per dual installation after completing a minimum of four installations in a day.
- London weighting: additional £2,000 annual allowance if you live within the M25.
- Enhanced overtime rates for Sunday working.
- OTE (on‑target earnings) of approximately £42,293 when combining base salary with mandatory on‑call requirements.

Schedule
You will be scheduled an average of 4 jobs per day with an average travel time of approximately 35 minutes between appointments. Work is planned several weeks in advance, giving you greater visibility to balance work and life while still allowing you to take on additional work when it suits you.
