Sage Hospitality Group is seeking a Dual Finance Manager for the Hilton Garden Inn Union Station and Hotel Indigo Downtown Denver.

  • Hilton Garden Inn Denver Union Station: A 12-story hotel opened in 2019 with 233 rooms and 10,000 square feet of meeting and event space. Located just west of Denver Union Station, amenities include a 54-foot lap pool, fitness center, business center, and coworking space.
  • Hotel Indigo Denver Downtown: A boutique hotel in LoDo offering light-filled suites with ergonomic workstations, spa-style bathrooms, a fully equipped fitness center, and design details. Includes trusted Hotel Indigo amenities and in-house local experts.

About the Role

The Finance Manager is responsible for the daily financial operations of the Hilton Garden Inn Denver Union Station, ensuring accurate accounting, financial reporting, payroll administration, budgeting support, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards. This role partners closely with hotel leadership to provide timely financial information, maintain strong internal controls, and support operational decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, payroll processing, bank reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
  • Prepare accurate monthly financial statements, reports, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Assist the General Manager with the preparation of the annual operating budget, forecasts, and financial analyses.
  • Monitor departmental expenses and labor costs, identify variances from budget, and provide recommendations to improve financial performance.
  • Maintain effective internal controls to safeguard hotel assets and ensure compliance with company policies, brand standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Review invoices, expense coding, and financial transactions to ensure accuracy and proper authorization.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits while maintaining complete and organized financial records.
  • Prepare required state, federal, and local tax filings and financial reports.
  • Ensure payroll is processed accurately and timely while maintaining compliance with wage and hour laws.
  • Analyze financial data and communicate trends, opportunities, and potential risks to the General Manager.
  • Assist department leaders in understanding financial reports and operating within approved budgets.
  • Develop and maintain efficient accounting procedures that improve accuracy and productivity.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and supervise accounting associates while promoting professional development and accountability within the department.
  • Foster positive working relationships with hotel leadership, vendors, ownership, and corporate accounting partners.
  • Participate in leadership meetings and provide financial insight to support operational decisions.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or deemed necessary by management.

Supervisory Duties

Direct supervision of Accounting associates (typically 1-5 associates, depending on hotel size).

Qualifications

  • Education/Formal Training: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Experience: Three to five years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably within hospitality. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge/Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of hotel accounting procedures, financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and internal controls.
    • Proficiency with hotel property management systems, accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting systems.
    • Ability to analyze financial information, identify trends, and make practical recommendations.
    • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Pay

USD $105,000.00 - USD $115,000.00 per year.
