About the role

The Cumberland County Guidance Center is seeking a Full-Time Dual Diagnosis Disorder Specialist to join their Bridgeton, NJ team. This onsite position offers the opportunity to support individuals navigating both mental health and substance use challenges while working alongside a dedicated, mission-driven staff.

What You'll Do as a Dual Diagnosis Disorder Specialist

  • Conducting comprehensive substance use assessments, education, and counseling
  • Delivering crisis intervention and symptom evaluation
  • Supporting clients in developing recovery skills and working toward a substance-free lifestyle
  • Participating in assertive community outreach to engage individuals in need
  • Aiding in referrals to rehabilitation and treatment programs
  • Collaborating with the team during treatment planning and case reviews
  • Sharing responsibility for caseload management
  • Using Motivational Interviewing (MI) to effectively engage and support clients

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a mental health-related field from an accredited institution
  • LCADC or CADC credentials
  • Two years of post-certification experience working with chronically mentally ill and/or MICA populations
  • Ability to work a flexible 40-hour schedule, including some weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations
  • Valid New Jersey driver's license with a clean five-year driving record meeting agency and insurance standards
  • Spanish-speaking ability preferred
