About the role

DSST Substitute Teachers (via HelloSubs) provide exceptional support to our teachers and students by providing half-day or full-day instruction for vacancies across our 16 schools. As a Substitute Teacher, you will have the flexibility to choose the positions that suit your interests and experiences best. Our Substitutes can serve up to five days per week – the perfect role for someone looking for flexibility and a meaningful way to support educational equity in Denver.

Responsibilities

• Provide half-day or full-day instruction for vacancies across 16 schools
• Support teachers and students by filling in for regular teachers
• Adapt to different grade levels and subjects as needed
• Ensure continuity of learning during teacher absences

Requirements

• Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not always required
• Substitute license not required for DSST Public Schools

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks
• Experience teaching or working in a school environment is beneficial but not required

Skills

• Effective classroom management skills
• Ability to adapt to different teaching styles and subject areas
• Strong organizational and time management skills
