Substitute Teacher

Position Overview

Responsibilities

Provide classroom instruction based on lesson plans prepared by the regular teacher.

Maintain a safe, respectful, and orderly classroom environment that reflects the values of a Catholic school community.

Take attendance, monitor student behavior, and manage classroom routines effectively.

Communicate and enforce school policies, procedures, and expectations.

Adapt to different subject areas and grade levels as needed.

Report any classroom issues or concerns to school administration

Support the mission of Archbishop Hannan High School by fostering spiritual, academic, and personal growth in students.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree (education background preferred).
• Prior teaching or substitute teaching experience preferred.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Flexibility to adapt to a variety of grade levels and subject areas.
• Commitment to the values of Catholic education and willingness to support the school's mission.
• Completion of the Archdiocese of New Orleans Safe Environment training and background checks (required).

Work Schedule

On-call, as needed, during the academic year.

Full-day and half-day assignments available.

Compensation

Competitive daily rate, commensurate with experience.
