About the role

MARC, Inc. is seeking dependable Direct Support Professionals for our Residential Department to assist persons with developmental disabilities in their daily activities, including home care, finances, nutrition, and medical needs. You will develop natural supports and help individuals achieve personal growth and goals. The ideal candidate is compassionate, has experience assisting adults with special needs, and possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide staff and natural supports to implement services for each person served.
  • Ensure community involvement for each person served using natural supports.
  • Support individuals in managing their home, finances, nutrition, and medical needs.
  • Collaborate with the Group Home Manager on the goals of people served.
  • Maintain residential settings according to physical standards at all times.
  • Uphold the rights of all persons served, ensuring freedom from abuse or neglect.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a positive attitude as a role model.
  • Attend all required MARC training sessions (CPR, First Aid, PMT, Medication Certification) within six months of hire and keep certifications current.
  • Transport persons served using either an agency or personal vehicle as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid CT Driver’s License and a vehicle with current CT registration and insurance (driving is required).
  • CPR, First Aid, PMT, and Med Certification preferred.
  • Ability to lift and transfer up to 30 lbs. and occasional lifting of nonambulatory people.
  • Frequent sitting, walking, standing, and driving.

Schedule

Part-Time position with flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
