Position overview

AHRC NYC is holding a hiring event with on‑the‑spot job offers for full‑ and part‑time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for their Manhattan ICF residence.

Pay

Pay rate: $20.60 – $20.96 per hour, depending on driving status.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all safety and health considerations for individuals served
• Promote skill development, interests, and hobbies
• Assist with Adult Daily Living (ADL) skills
• Provide personalized support such as cooking, cleaning, hygiene, and other daily tasks
• Facilitate community inclusion, activities, work, leisure, and the exercise of personal rights

Qualifications

• Personal or professional experience supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) – preferred
• Professionalism, integrity, and excellent communication skills
• Patience – a must
• Willingness to support individuals’ preferences for community, activities, work, leisure, and rights in various settings
• Ability to use a computer for data entry
• High school education or GED – highly preferred

Schedule

• Full‑time (40 hrs): 3 pm – 11 pm or 2 pm – 10 pm (drivers required)
• Part‑time (30 hrs): 10 pm – 8 am, Friday to Sunday (drivers not required)
• Weekend availability needed for most positions
