DSP Direct Support Professional - 24hrs

About the role

Residential Counselor is a direct care professional whose primary responsibility is to help meet the personal health, safety and welfare of the people living in the group home. You will assist and/or supervise individuals in personal care areas i.e. bathing/toileting; participate and/or supervise in cleaning, cooking and life skills. Administer and/or assist with medication administration. You must communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers and the individuals living in the homes. Drive residents to/from day programs, outside/within their community using agency vehicles. This position requires daily documentation of services provided. Assist with fun community based activities.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers and residents
• Drive residents to/from day programs and within their community using agency vehicles
• Provide daily documentation of services
• Assist with community-based activities

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid (non-provisional) driver’s license
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of CPR/First Aid and emergency evacuation procedures
• Experience with ID/DD population is a plus

Schedule

• Regular Salary: $20.49 per hour Monday–Friday and $21.49 per hour for shifts beginning 11 PM Friday to 11 PM Sunday
• Non-work time paid at the base rate
• Part-time shift: 24 hours per week (Monday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday 3 PM–9 PM)
