DSP Direct Support Professional - 20.5hrs

About the role

Residential Counselor is a direct care professional whose primary responsibility is to help meet the personal health, safety and welfare of the people living in the group home. You will assist and/or supervise individuals in personal care areas such as bathing/toileting; participate and/or supervise in cleaning, cooking and life skills. Administer and/or assist with medication administration. You must communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers and the individuals living in the homes. Drive residents to/from day programs, outside/within their community using agency vehicles. This position requires daily documentation of services provided. Assist with fun community-based activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist and/or supervise individuals in personal care areas i.e. bathing/toileting;
• Participate and/or supervise in cleaning, cooking and life skills;
• Administer and/or assist with medication administration;
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers and the individuals living in the homes;
• Drive residents to/from day programs, outside/within their community using agency vehicles;
• Document services provided daily;
• Aid in organizing fun community-based activities.

Requirements

• Motivated to work as part of a team that acts in the best interest of our residents at all times;
• Experience with ID/DD population is a plus;
• HS diploma or equivalent;
• A valid (non-provisional) driver’s license;
• The ability to meet the physical requirements of CPR/First Aid and our emergency evacuation procedures.

Qualifications

• Full-time positions require 30+ hours per week;
• Part-time positions are available with 20.5 hours per week (2:30pm - 11:00pm Monday, 7:00am - 11:00am Tuesday, and 3:00pm - 11:00pm Sunday).

Pay

• Regular Salary: $20.49 per hour Mon-Fri;
• Regular Salary: $21.49 per hour (shifts beginning 11PM Friday to 11PM on Sunday).

Schedule

• Part-time Shift: 20.5 hours per week (2:30pm - 11:00pm Monday, 7:00am - 11:00am Tuesday, and 3:00pm - 11:00pm Sunday).
