Role Overview
The Department for Persons with Disabilities (DPD) is seeking dedicated, caring, and compassionate individuals to serve as Direct Support Professionals/Residential Counselors (DSPs). The DSPs will assist and supervise individuals in personal care areas, including bathing/toileting, and participate in cleaning, cooking, and life skills activities. They will also drive residents to/from day programs and assist with fun community-based activities.
Responsibilities
- Help meet the personal health, safety, and welfare of the people living in the group home.
- Assist and/or supervise individuals in personal care areas such as bathing/toileting.
- Participate and/or supervise in cleaning, cooking, and life skills activities.
- Administer and/or assist with medication administration.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and the individuals living in the homes.
- Drive residents to/from day programs, outside/within their community using agency vehicles.
- Daily documentation of services provided.
- Aid in fun community-based activities.
Requirements
- Motivated to work as part of a team that acts in the best interest of our residents at all times.
- Experience with ID/DD population is a plus.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- A valid (non-provisional) drivers license.
- The ability to meet the physical requirements of CPR/First Aid and our emergency evacuation procedures.

Job Type
- Full-time: 30+ hours per week.
- Part-time: Monday, Wednesday & Friday 7am-10:30am & Saturdays 3pm-10pm.
