DSP Day Program (Drivers) Staten Island
About the role
Full-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) are needed for the Adult Day Program in Staten Island. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and be comfortable driving a small van.
Responsibilities
- Support individuals with disabilities in leading self-directed lives and becoming active members of their communities.
- The oversight of all safety and health considerations.
- Promoting skill development, interests, and hobbies.
- Aiding with activities of daily living (ADLs).
Requirements
- Valid NY or Tri-State Driver's license, in good standing, required.
- Experience driving a small van a plus.
- Personal and/or Professional experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Understanding of Person Centered Planning.
- Reasonable flexibility in work hours and ability to respond to the scheduling needs of the individual.
- Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with program participants, families, staff and community agencies.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
- High School diploma or GED is preferred.

Pay
$18 per hour plus a very generous and comprehensive Benefit packet.
Schedule
Monday - Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm (35 hours per week). Upon completion and passing of AHRC NYC Defensive Driving class if driving is needed, hours may vary.
