DSHS ESA DDS Examiner Support Specialist 2
About the role
The Division of Disability Determination Services (DDS) staff coordinate closely with examiners, medical providers, and federal partners to keep Social Security Disability claims moving towards a decision. As a DDS Examiner Support Specialist 2 in the Professional Relations unit, you'll help manage documentation for medical provider contract files, ensure medical licenses are current, and maintain accurate medical provider vendor files. You'll also handle Congressional Inquiries about claim status within required timelines.
This position may offer a flexible/hybrid schedule after initial training, based on business needs. Occasional travel may be required.
Responsibilities
- Help manage and document medical provider contracts.
- Work with medical records providers to process electronic submission of records.
- Maintain accurate vendor file records for medical providers.
- Track Congressional Inquiries on claim statuses and respond within required timelines.
- Use the enterprise reporting system to monitor and track compliance dates.
- Assist the Consultative Examinations unit with additional workloads as needed.
- Travel occasionally to attend training sessions or meetings.
- Support Adjudicator 5s and other duties as needed.
Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following:
- One year of experience at the DDS Examiner Support Specialist 1 level.
- A combination of education and/or experience totaling three years.
Additionally, experience in an office or customer service setting performing administrative tasks such as answering telephones, operating office equipment, typing, and creating business correspondence/notes is required.

- Technology skills: Confident using technology and learning new systems, such as enterprise reporting systems and standard office software.

Prior to hire, a background check including criminal record history may be conducted. Employees driving on state business must have a valid driver's license and, if using a privately owned vehicle, liability insurance.
