Dry Etch Process Development Engineer

About the role

Texas Instruments is seeking an energetic engineer with a passion for process development. This role offers the opportunity to drive continuous improvement at all levels within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develops new or modified processes, defines processing and equipment requirements and specifications
  • Reviews processing techniques and methods applied in the manufacture of products
  • Involves in projects from paper studies to full-scale manufacturing
  • Compiles and evaluates test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process or material specifications
  • Conceives and plans projects involving new concepts, equipment, chemistry, automation technology, approaches in the processing or development of new or improved processes
  • Provides technical engineering support in the manufacturing area
  • Recommends and implements equipment and process modifications to improve production efficiencies, manufacturing techniques, fundamental capabilities and production yields for existing products
  • Develops and conducts statistical analysis such as Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) targeting physical causes of failure for yield loss and improving quality
  • Pairs with vendors to define and execute on equipment and process development roadmaps

Qualifications

  • Minimum requirements: Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
  • 5 years relevant experience in 300mm Dry Etch
  • Strong foundation in statistical process control, Design of Experiments (DOE), data analysis, model-based problem solving, engineering change control, and process release strategies
  • Preferred qualifications: Previous direct R&D experience in 300mm semiconductors, Experience with HKMG and/or Silicon Photonics, Working knowledge of advanced CMOS device physics and reliability mechanisms in advanced logic and CMOS technologies, Experience across multiple 300mm etch platforms, multiple vendors, and conductor and dielectric etch experience, Device physics training with understanding of materials and electrical test characterization, Data analysis skills, Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions and locations, Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery, Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships, AI/ML and scripting experience, Good listener and excellent verbal and written communication skills
