Dry End Operator

About the role

The Packaging Operator I is responsible for various tasks including production driving, scrap hauling, and pad driving. Other duties include safely operating machinery, communicating with process end operators, inspecting packaging for quality, and performing quality round checks.

Responsibilities

• Follow all procedures and wear proper personal protective equipment
• Practice proper lifting techniques and maintain good housekeeping
• Attend daily pre-shift meetings and fill out checklists
• Maintain forklift, complete repair tags, and stage in designated areas
• Inspect packaging for quality, remove finished pallets, supply raw materials, and provide breaks and lunches
• Ensure neatly stacked and correct amount of shingles per bundle before high lug conveyor
• Operate machinery to meet efficiency targets and effectively dispose of all splices
• Perform other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED or equivalent experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work under limited supervision and self-motivated
• Excellent organization skills
• Ability to work well with others at all levels of the organization
• Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
• Use proper lock-out/tag-out procedures when working on machinery

Skills

Safe forklift operation is mandatory. Computer software and personal computers are required.
