About the Role

Mayvin, in partnership with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the New Mexico Tech Institute of Mining and Technology (NMTIMT) in collaboration with the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium (NDPC), is seeking Drone Assessment and Response Tactics (DART) Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Instructors. This role involves delivering cutting-edge training to first responders and emergency personnel through a blend of classroom instruction, hands-on exercises, and field demonstrations at NMTIMT’s Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center (EMRTC) in Socorro, NM, or at local, state, or tribal emergency responder unit locations.

Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must be able to undergo and pass a background investigation. Travel is required to support resident and mobile course offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a drone subject matter expert, providing instruction across a wide area of UAS and Counter-UAS technologies and threats.
  • Conduct research and identify resources relevant to DART training, threat mitigation, and counter technologies and strategies.
  • Instruct on real-world topics, including:
    • Detection strategies
    • Identification methods
    • Threat assessment
    • Practical response techniques
  • Review course materials to ensure conformance with U.S. law, regulations, and compliance with FAA, DOD, DHS, and FBI standards.
  • Participate in curriculum development and updates based on lessons learned and NMTIMT and FEMA NTED standards.
  • Maintain and comply with FAA Part 107 and NMTIMT Instructor Certification Program requirements throughout the duration of the assignment.
