About the role

Educates and instructs students trying to obtain their driving license in the safe operation of motor vehicles in an on-the-road setting. Maintains an awareness of various students' learning styles and adjusts instruction appropriately.

  • Provides instruction in a patient, calm, and personable manner to reduce student anxiety and enhance the learning experience.
  • For on-the-road settings: observes students' driving ability; provides instruction in safe driving techniques in both highway and urban driving conditions.
  • Ensures the safety of the student(s) is maintained at all times during on-the-road instructional sessions.
  • Ensures driving school vehicles are clean and presentable according to Club guidelines; removes snow, ice, and other debris from vehicles prior to each use.
  • Performs vehicle inspections and safety checks prior to the operation of the vehicle.
  • May be required to drive vehicle to nearby Fleet center, car wash, or another automotive facility for preventative maintenance or repair.
  • Assists in driving school with various administrative tasks.
  • Drives students to road tests and Registry for licenses.
  • Adheres to all department policies and procedures, including accurate recording of student hours.
  • May provide training and guidance to new driving instructors/trainees.
  • Provides training feedback to both the supervisor and the employee.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Less than 1 year of driving instructor/trainee experience required.
  • 1-3 years of prior teaching experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Current State Driving Instruction Certificate, or ability to obtain certification post-training within 30 days required.
  • Ability to meet Club insurance requirements, motor vehicle, and other pre-employment guidelines required.

Pay

The posted salary range represents the full range grade for this role, with individual pay based on job-related skills, experience, shift, and geographic location. Includes competitive base pay and annual bonus opportunities. For certain roles, additional monthly and/or quarterly incentive compensation is available.
