Driver-Transporter

About the role

Early Head Start Child Care Partnerships and Skip-a-Long Childhood Centers, part of SAL Family and Community Services and the Quad Cities' leading provider of early childhood care and education, is seeking a Driver and Transporter.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate transportation of delivery of materials, supplies, and equipment for Early Head Start families, centers, and partner sites.
• Operate designated agency vehicles and provide support in transporting children, adults, and cargo for Skip-a-Long Childhood Centers and Early Head Start.
• Resolve any issues with deliveries by working closely with the Senior Manager Procurement & Vendors, other SAL Community Services managers, families, and partner childcare sites.
• Handle miscellaneous matters such as gutter maintenance, minor landscaping, minor cleaning of exterior building shell, and organizing.
• Maintain a neat, organized, and hazard-free vehicle.
• Ensure all vehicle paperwork is accessible and current such as registration, insurance, and accident protocol.
• Present self as a professional and promote positive relations with children, staff, families, and community.
• Perform all documentation and reporting requirements as set forth by Early Head Start and organizational expectations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in minor building maintenance.
• At least one year driving a multi-passenger van.
• At least one year in an early childhood education, school, or summer camp setting.
