Position Purpose

The purpose of this role is to train and/or re-train delivery drivers on all aspects of the delivery driver job duties, utilizing company training guides, manuals, checklists, and processes to ensure compliance with company policies, practices, safety, and DOT regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibits strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Utilizes all systems and tools effectively, including computer and software systems
  • Delivers hands-on training to driver trainees, ensuring customer needs, service times, labor, and transportation costs are met and within guidelines
  • Provides ongoing and timely feedback to assigned driver trainees and supervisory staff, including positive reinforcement and constructive corrective actions
  • Performs all route delivery duties per company guidelines and safety regulations, including pre/post trip, inspection of load and freight, adherence to delivery windows, and ensures accuracy of customer delivery
  • Works with new driver hires and experienced drivers in classroom and/or field settings to prepare them for a successful professional driver career

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience, with at least 1 year of route driving experience with PFG and at least 2 years of route driving experience overall
  • Route delivery driver experience specifically in the foodservice distribution industry with in-depth knowledge of DOT regulations
  • Computerized fleet operations management systems knowledge (i.e. PeopleNet)
  • Valid CDL A and DOT Health Card
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
  • No attendance write-ups in the last 6 months
  • No disciplinary action in the last 12 months
  • No more than 3 points per PFG preventable accident policy in the last rolling 12 months
  • MVR policy point assessment of less than 20 points (Good or Professional Level)

Work Schedule and Compensation

The work schedule for this role is Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 2AM to 4PM, with a compensation rate of $32.64 per hour.
