Driver/Material Handler

About the role

The position involves moving parts, goods, and other merchandise between locations, as well as transporting materials, supplies, and finished products to designated areas. Approximately 50% of the time will be spent driving (on-site and over-the-road), with the remaining 50% dedicated to warehouse operations (receiving and shipping). The role requires flexibility to work in the warehouse when driving is not needed and a willingness to operate a forklift and skid steer (training provided).

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

Responsibilities

• Plan and complete an efficient delivery and pick-up route for the day.
• Load delivery vehicle with parcels scheduled for delivery.
• Deliver parcels to correct addresses, obtaining signatures and proof of receipt when necessary.
• Pick up parcels along the scheduled route, including items to be returned, company orders, and other requested items.
• Receive, distribute, and store products as directed in designated, secure locations.
• Prepare and maintain records of materials received and shipped, including dates of transactions, locations, and other pertinent information.
• Review shipments for quality and accuracy; review accompanying documents for accuracy.
• Confirm shipping details or special instructions; expedite shipments that affect the manufacturing process schedule.
• Transport and load materials, supplies, and finished goods (manually and/or using hand trucks, skid steer, and skids).
• Maintain basic records of truck mileage and deliveries made.
• Ensure delivery vehicle receives basic service according to maintenance schedule; report larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor.
• Assist in general warehouse duties when the delivery route is completed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Valid CDL license required.
• 1 year of warehouse experience (required).

Skills

• Ability to drive safely.
• Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.
• Ability to plan delivery routes.
• Ability to maintain basic logs and records.
• Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision.
• Able to remain professional and courteous at all times.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Must be able to load and unload packages with and without dollies in various types of weather.

Pay

$19.00 per hour.
