About the role

Via uses app‑based technology to make transportation more efficient, reinventing shared rides to reduce congestion, lower emissions, and get passengers to their destinations efficiently. In Charlottesville, VA, Via partners with Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT) to provide the MicroCAT service—a corner‑to‑corner micro‑transit service—by connecting independent contractor Driver Partners with riders through the Via platform.

Requirements

• Must be 25 years of age or older
• Complete a drug screening and enroll in the FTA Drug & Alcohol testing program (pre‑engagement, random, post‑accident, and reasonable suspicion testing)
• Have more than 1 year of unrestricted U.S. driving history
• Maintain a personal auto insurance policy
• Pass a background check, including criminal and motor vehicle record checks (Social Security Number required)
• Lease and drive a vehicle from a vehicle‑leasing partner

Pay

Driver Partners are eligible to earn up to $20 per hour after any vehicle‑related expenses, or up to $22 per hour for driving a wheelchair‑accessible vehicle after any vehicle‑related expenses. Payment is made within 14 days of activation.
