Driver Hiring Manager (DHM)

About the role
The right person balances hunter mentality with sound judgment. Speed matters – but quality, expectation-setting, and retention matter more.
Responsibilities
- Source, screen, and close qualified driver candidates
- Conduct phone-based interviews focused on Nussbaum compatibility, job fit, and expectations
- Build rapport quickly and guide candidates through the hiring process
- Set clear pay, schedule, and job expectations from the first conversation
Requirements
- Treat every lead like a sales opportunity
- Seek to positively impact the person on the other end, regardless of hire decision
- Respond immediately to inbound interest, with a sense of urgency
- Proactively generate leads beyond inbound applications
- Screen thoroughly, identify red flags, and confidently say “no” when needed
- Set clear, accurate job expectations to ensure strong retention
- Take full accountability for results, quality of hire, and long-term outcomes
- Bounce back quickly from rejection
