Responsibilities
- Transporting freight between railroads, ports, and warehouses
- Performing all safety functions, including operating manual transmission, chaining tires, and ensuring safe working conditions
- Conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Using in-cab technology and conducting dock work, including loading/unloading freight and road runs
- Ensuring security of equipment and cargo, complying with C-TPAT and TSA security procedures
- Providing professional and courteous service to customers and the general public
- Adhering to FMCSA requirements and maintaining records required with compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Driving different schedules and working the dock based on business needs
- Running over the road on occasion, as dictated by business needs
Requirements
- Registered with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License; HazMat, Tanker, and Doubles endorsements preferred
- Frequent travel up to 90%
- Physical demands: lifting and moving up to 70 lbs., frequent standing, walking, reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, turning, climbing, sitting, and talking/hearing
- Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Work environment: exposure to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, high/precarious places, hazardous materials, various terrains, and various weather conditions
Qualifications
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to operate a forklift (minimum 7,500 lb. vehicle)
- Ability to drop/hook and couple trailers, which involves cranking landing gear, pulling the 5th wheel pin, and maneuvering a trailer dolly
- Ability to drive all routes and in all types of terrain, including mountains, steeply inclined roads, curvy highways, desert areas, bridges, tunnels, etc.
- Ability to operate all safety and operational functions of equipment, including chaining tires, driving manual transmission vehicles, etc.
- Acceptable MVR
- Age 25 and at least two years of consecutive driving experience
- Familiarity with state motor vehicle laws and FMCSA rules and regulations
- Pass a pre-employment FMCSA medical exam and drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests
- Eligible to work in the United States

$26.00-$28.00 per hour
Schedule
Periodic travel up to 90% required.
