Driver (DOT-Class A CDL)

Location: 940 W Wilbeth Rd, Akron, OH 44314 (OH100 Distribution Center). Full‑time, Monday–Friday, 12:00 am – 12:00 pm.

About the role

Find your future at Fastenal! Our distribution center is hiring energetic, team‑oriented individuals to join our transportation team. As a Full‑Time Driver (DOT‑Class A CDL), you will represent our fleet delivering from Fastenal Distribution Centers to branches and customer on‑site locations. You will operate a safe, well‑maintained, late‑model tractor‑trailer or straight truck. Delivery trucks are pre‑loaded, in order of delivery, by warehouse employees prior to departure; you will be responsible for unloading the freight at each stop along your route (most routes average 10–12 stops). We offer established routes that may see periodic change based on company needs. Responsibilities

• Utilizing a handheld scanner
• Unloading product from trucks by hand, pallet jack, or forklift
• Providing excellent service to branches and customers by delivering product in a prompt, efficient manner
• Interacting with shipping and receiving departments
• Maintaining a clean work environment within equipment
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of work area
• Inspecting and reporting defects or issues in equipment
• Complying with DOT and Fastenal safety regulations
• Complying with health, safety, and sustainability rules and expectations
• Participating in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety, and sustainability objectives
• Learning, passing, and practicing various environmental health and safety trainings

Requirements

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Possess or be in progress of obtaining a Class A Commercial Driver’s License
• Possess a current Health Card or have the ability to obtain one
• Possess a current HazMat endorsement or have the ability to obtain one (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam only)
• Meet Fastenal driving record requirements
• Demonstrate strong working knowledge of DOT regulations regarding a CDL driver
• Maintain DOT‑regulated driver hours‑of‑service
• Willingness to drive interstate routes across state lines
• Demonstrate core values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork
• Lift up to 60 lbs. and maneuver up to 150 lbs.
• Successfully complete required DOT drug and alcohol screens, road test, employment verification, and background check

Qualifications

• Prior driving work experience
• Prior experience operating a forklift

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 12:00 am (midnight) to 12:00 pm (noon).
