Driver - Class B Driver

About the role

We are hiring a Driver-CDL B in Portland, OR. The role centers on ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient delivery operations.

Responsibilities

• Safety and Vehicle Compliance: Maintaining a safe driving record and appropriate licensing, strict adherence to company safety policies, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and actively identifying workplace hazards.
  • Performing required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
• Delivery and Logistics: Loading and unloading service trucks, performing timely scheduled and non-route deliveries to meet customer satisfaction, and ensuring all necessary load documents are accurate and available.
  • Maintaining all required company and DOT records, identifying potential cylinder problems, pulling orders from the warehouse, and collecting and submitting all customer payments.

• General Duties: Providing support to internal and external customers regarding inventory and delivery needs, and being available for occasional mandatory overtime, weekends, and holidays for on-call duty.

Requirements

• Valid Class A or B CDL with HAZMAT & Airbrake endorsements. Hazmat is required. Candidates will not be considered unless they currently have their HAZMAT.
• Maintain appropriate driver’s license, medical card & endorsements.
• No more than two (2) traffic convictions: OR two (2) at-fault accident in the last 3 years; or no more than a combination of one (1) traffic conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last 3 years.
• No driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance within the last seven (7) years.
• Must be able to work in a drug-free environment.
• Be able to regularly lift 75lbs and move more than 125lbs with the aid of material handling equipment.
• Have 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or be able to provide proof of a certificate of completion from trucking school completed in the last 12 months.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications: Forklift experience, 1 year of CDL experience.
