Driver - Class B

Responsibilities

• Operate a commercial motor vehicle safely and efficiently to deliver atmospheric, flammable, industrial gases and hard-good products.
• Adhere to company policies including safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment.
• Identify and report any safety and health hazards encountered during work.
• Maintain a safe driving record and appropriate driver’s license classification.
• Load and unload service trucks with gas cylinders, containers, and supplies as directed by the dispatcher.
• Ensure timely deliveries to meet customer satisfaction.
• Accurately maintain records and documents required for the movement and delivery of the load.
• Perform non-route deliveries as needed to provide customers with products.
• Inspect vehicles for defects and submit necessary documentation to report any issues immediately.
• Complete post-trip deliveries at the end of each shift.
• Identify potential problems with cylinders and notify management promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat and Airbrake endorsements.
• Minimum one (1) year of Class B driving experience.
• Clean and safe driving record with no at-fault accidents or serious moving violations within the past three (3) years.
• Experience operating a forklift is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations for commercial drivers.
• Ability to read maps and follow directions to effectively navigate delivery routes.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Able to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions.
• Knowledge of basic document interpretation.
• Physical ability to meet all DOT qualification standards.

Pay and Schedule

• $30.00 per hour.
• Monday-Friday 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM schedule.
