Responsibilities

• Safely transport building materials, products, and equipment to customer locations according to established routes and delivery schedules.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT/FMCSA regulations and company policies.
• Plan delivery routes while accounting for traffic, weather, road restrictions, and jobsite accessibility.
• Maintain regular communication with dispatch regarding departure, arrival, delays, route changes, and delivery status.
• Obtain customer signatures, delivery confirmations, and required documentation upon delivery.
• Represent QXO professionally during all customer interactions.
• Review delivery paperwork, route information, and load documentation prior to departure to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.
• Ensure delivered materials are placed in safe, accessible, and customer-designated locations while following jobsite requirements.
• Verify load accuracy and inspect materials prior to departure.
• Safely load, secure, and transport materials using proper load securement methods, including straps, chains, binders, and tie-downs as appropriate.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials while following safe lifting and material handling practices.
• Perform touch-freight duties, including lifting, carrying, and moving products as required.
• Verify delivered materials with customers and document discrepancies or damaged products.
• Operate truck-mounted forklifts (Moffett) or other specialized material handling equipment as required by the business unit.
• Safely load, unload, and transport materials using forklifts and other material handling equipment in accordance with company procedures.
• Deliver exceptional customer service during each delivery.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding delivery schedules, product questions, and jobsite requirements.
• Assist customers with unloading and placement of materials when appropriate.
• Notify branch personnel of customer concerns, jobsite issues, or service opportunities.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional company vehicle.
• Complete inspection reports, delivery documentation, electronic logs, and mobile application updates accurately and on time.
• Utilize GPS, route planning software, mobile applications, and electronic delivery systems effectively.
• Report vehicle maintenance concerns, equipment issues, accidents, or safety incidents immediately.
• Capture required delivery documentation, including customer signatures, photographs, and electronic records using company mobile applications.
• Return completed delivery documentation and required paperwork accurately and on time.
• Follow all DOT/FMCSA regulations and company driving policies.
• Wear required PPE and maintain safe work practices at all times.
• Inspect delivery sites to identify hazards and ensure safe loading and unloading conditions.
• Use spotters when maneuvering in congested or hazardous areas whenever possible.
• Adapt safely to changing weather, road, and jobsite conditions.
• Promote a safety-first culture while protecting company assets and customer property.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Follow manufacturer operating guidelines and company procedures when using specialized delivery and material handling equipment.
• Inspect forklifts and other material handling equipment before use and report maintenance or safety concerns immediately.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and safe driving practices.

• Ability to work independently while managing daily delivery schedules.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to operate mobile applications, GPS systems, and electronic delivery tools.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid CDL Class A license in good standing.
• Minimum 1–2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
• Experience operating flatbed trucks, tractor-trailers, manual transmissions, or oversized load vehicles preferred.
• Experience operating truck-mounted forklifts (Moffett) or other material handling equipment is a plus.
• Experience delivering building materials, construction products, trusses, wall panels, steel, rebar, roofing, or similar products preferred.
• Clean driving record and ability to meet company driving requirements.
• Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background requirements as applicable.

Work Environment

• Primarily field-based with frequent driving throughout assigned service areas.
• Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, traffic, construction sites, warehouses, and customer facilities.
• Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, and enter or exit commercial vehicles.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry materials weighing up to 75 pounds or more using proper lifting techniques.
• Frequent use of load securement equipment, mobile technology, and material handling equipment.
• May require overtime, weekend work, overnight travel, or flexible schedules based on operational needs.
