Driver CDL Class A

Trans Services, Inc, a subsidiary of USMMG, is hiring drivers for locations in Kansas City, KS, Spring Hill, KS, and St. Joseph, MO.

Requirements

• Possess and maintain a valid Class A CDL
• Have a HazMat endorsement or be willing to obtain it within 90 days
• Meet I-9 requirements
• Safe and clean MVR with no major convictions
• 24 months verifiable tractor/trailer driving experience within the previous 36 months
• Excellent knowledge of traffic laws and DOT regulations
• Ability to read, speak, and write English in accordance with DOT regulations
• Ability to perform job functions as described
• 2 years of local drayage experience in and out of Kansas City depots and rail yards
• Pass background screen, DOT drug screen (no prior positive or controlled substance tests/refusals), and DOT physical examination with a minimum one-year expiration
• Pass company road test
• Strong interpersonal skills for professional and courteous communication with customers and staff
• Proficiency with smartphones

Responsibilities

• Operate a semi-truck in compliance with all state and federal transportation laws
• Pick up and deliver ocean containers, verifying loads/empties for accuracy
• Maintain truck maintenance logs and comply with all safe work practices and policies
• Report damage, defects, accidents, or traffic violations to the manager by completing DVIR and pre-trip inspections on tractors
• Complete and verify the accuracy of dispatch manifests for daily submission

Pay

• Local drivers: $28.75 hourly
• $0.55 per mile for miles over 100
