Driver CDL B Regional OTR - Hazmat Retail Containerized Waste

Position Summary

The HazMat Retail Driver will operate class B trucks in a Less Than Truckload (LTL) capacity to pick up customer retail waste from retail stores, pharmacies, and/or industrial sites. Driver will sort customer waste, verify packaging, labeling, and securing for transport to a temporary storage or treatment facility. Excellent customer service is provided through follow-up and ongoing communication while on-site. Maintains electronic log and documentation of manifests and work orders.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize company technology to track waste collection, packaging, and disposal.
  • Deliver high-level customer service through clear communication and professionalism.
  • Maintain vehicle log.
  • Maintain documentation of manifests and work orders.
  • Perform DOT pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with company and DOT regulations.
  • Understand and comply with DOT regulations regarding hazardous waste collection, packaging, and transportation, including accurate placarding, loading securement, HAZMAT load segregation, and labeling.
  • Assist in maintaining good housekeeping at facility and on grounds.
  • Function as technician on lab pack and field service projects.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Self-motivated to achieve daily workload targets.
  • CDL Hazmat endorsement preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A valid class B commercial driver’s license with an MVR meeting Company policy standards.
  • Ability to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER Training upon hire.
